Meet Scott

As a lifelong resident of Southern Illinois, I proudly attended Southeastern Illinois College where I earned two degrees in Diesel Technology. I currently work as a Diesel Technician and am a United States Air Force veteran of six years.  I cannot begin to explain all the things I learned during active-duty term.  My time in the Air Force helped inspire my passion for political activism.

As you can imagine, the technical skills I learned are not very transferrable to the civilian world, but the life lessons I received far outweigh any technical training out there. It taught me responsibility.  To a boy of 19, responsibility is some abstract term that has something to do with taking the trash out.  My career in the Air Force taught me what it really is.  Currently, I serve as the Chair of the Southern Illinois Libertarian Party and Sr. Vice-Commander of VFW post 1301.

Of all the things I have done, my proudest achievement is being a father to an amazing ten year old girl. Being a father has completely reshaped who I am and how I see myself, for the better. If it were not for her, I would not have gotten involved in politics. I want her to grow up with more freedom than we have today.

My experience as a father and a veteran has inspired my dedication to fight for a limited, constitutional government and fight the cesspool in Illinois Politics. When I enlisted, I took an oath to uphold and defend the United States Constitution.  That oath did not end with my contract.  It will last until my dying breath, and I take it very seriously.
